Rik Ellis - Aikido & Reality

I care little for the adverse comments of the gutless Aikidoist's who have never proven themselves as I have, I have fought all comers and never lost, In 2012 I won the UK1 MMA light heavy weight title in the first round. ( I won every professional fight in the first round) Once you realise that Aikido in the street is totally different to Aikido in the choregraphed dojo, then you will realise that your Ki is simply your excuse for your failure and lack of courage. My Aikido is always in my mind and my movement. I was lucky to have a father Henry Ellis Shihan who was a direct student of Kenshiro Abbe Sensei, he taught me that Aikido is a Martial Art and not a hobby.

Whose Knocking Aikido ? ?

I have been accused of knocking Aikido - I have never ever knocked Aikido - I have knocked the idiots that make a mockery of Aikido - I have knocked what they offer as Aikido, I would like to knock their sad collective heads together.

Gozo Shioda Sensei summed these people up.
