Yes there is kicking and punching in Aikido.....In the 1950s/60s all Kenshiro Abbe Sensei's Aikido classes began with 30mins hard kicking and punching exercises. and 200 pushups on the back of the wrists. - Click ~ Push-ups on back of wrists

Could you explain when, during those figths, you use aikido techniques ?
I try to find them, but I didn't...
(I practice aikido too, this explains my interest on your personnal experience of MMA figth).

ReplyDeleteThat is probably because you are looking for the typical posture and hand movements of Aikido. What I have learned over many years with my father Henry Ellis is ``body movement `` Irimi - Tenkan - IrimiTenkan which I use to pt my opponent either into or out of the cage wall. Much more, such as my fathers fighting spirit. Thanks for looking in.
